BCC is Non Partisan Policy Think Tank works with the mandate to develop a strategic vision for India – Canada relations. BCC priorities to address the research and educational demands arising from India’s emergence. The BCC seeks to promote interdisciplinary study and research on India and on Canada-India with a focus on expertise in international relations, economy, modern history, geography and climate, health care sector, education, science and technology, information and communication technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, political and strategic studies, and on India-Canada comparative studies. It also looks to fostering active links with universities, colleges, institutes, schools, think tanks, business entities, media, government and non-governmental organizations in Canada and India through applied research, teaching micro credential courses, training programmes, workshops and conferences, and to serve as a repository of knowledge and data grounded in first-hand research on India and Canada.

Dr. Das is a Vice Chancellor in Krishna KantaHandiqui State Open University, Guwahati. He is an eminent scholar, a Fulbright Fellow and an exponent of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) in Assam and other areas in India. He has published extensively in the areas like Russian Studies, Comparative Literature, Cultural Studies and Open & Distance Learning. He actively participated in policy making as members of the Court, Academic Council and various statutory bodies of Guwahati University. He also acted as the co-investigator and local coordinator for India in the International Project on “OER Differentiation in Global South” jointly conducted by Brazil, South Africa, Indonesia, Malaysia, India and sponsored by IDRC, Canada. He has participated in various seminars and conferences in India and abroad, delivered key note addresses, acted as panelist/resource persons besides chairing various sessions and presenting papers in a number of national and international forums.

Dr. Nivedita Das Kundu, (PhD) an academic with University teaching and think tank research experience. She completed her master's and doctoral studies from Jawahar Lal Nehru University, New Delhi and University of Helsinki., Finland. She did her post-doctoral study from Woodrow Willson Centre for Scholars, Washington DC. Her Ph.D and post-doctoral studies is in International Relations. She has authored two books and has been editor for seven books on International Relations. She has contributed research papers and articles to various research journals, websites and newspapers. She has published chapters in edited books. She has additional qualification on women, borders and migration studies from University of Hannover and Pushkin Institute, Russia. Her research expertise focuses on geopolitics, foreign policy, strategic dimensions of security. She has presented papers and delivered lectures in various countries in international conferences and forums. Her accolades include prestigious state award “Pushkin Medal.” She is also CWC (Chemical Weapons Convention) Coalition member and works on WMD issues and concerns and participates regularly in meetings at Organisation for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Hague. She is a board member and chair working group, Science for Peace, University of Toronto. She is a director of Canada-India project for research and innovation (CIPRI) .
Captain Alok Bansal is a naval officer with commissioned service, has participated in Indian peacekeeping operations, in Sri Lanka. He has been Directing Staff at the Defence Services Staff College. He has represented the Indian side in Indo-Australian and Indo-Malaysian strategic dialogues. He has written extensively for many Indian and international newspapers, websites and journals.He was a Director at India Foundation. He is the Executive Director of South Asian Institute for Strategic Affairs (SAISA). He has been the Executive Director of the National Maritime Foundation (NMF) and has worked with the Institute of Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA) and Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS) earlier.He has authored a book titled “Balochistan in Turmoil:Pakistan at Cross Roadsand has co-edited several other books.
Group Captain (Retd.) AjeyLele is Senior Fellow in the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses and heads its Centre on Strategic Technologies. He started his professional career as an officer in the Indian Air Force and took early retirement from the service to pursue his academic interests. His specific areas of research include issues related to Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD), Space Security and Strategic Technologies. He has contributed articles to various national and international journals, websites and newspapers. He has authored seven books and has also has been an editor for six books. He is a recipient of K. Subrahmanyam Award (2013) which is conferred for outstanding contribution in the area of strategic and security studies.
